Hooky Update!!!

Where on earth did September go? I swear it was only the first day of spring yesterday and here we are at the end of the month already!

We've had a few bugs go through this house and that combined with my 2yo toilet training (going VERY well) I haven't had much time for hooking :(

I have hooked a couple of orders though, one of which I will post some big news about as soon as I can.

We are going on a little holiday next month where I hope to hook my heart out and come back with some new kits to get you all going. In the mean time if there is anything in particular you can't wait for drop me a line at my email beccisund@yahoo.com.au and I'll it hooked up for you.

Thanks so much for your patience.

STB Nicknames

I have been wanting to scrap a page about Ethan nickname 'Bubba Louie' for quite a while now. And guess what the first challenge was for this month at Scrap The Boys?
Yep nickname!!!!

Here's my take:

I have used Little Yellow Bicycles Baby Safari pp's and a Purple Pumpkin spotty button and felt flower.

Funny thing is I realised after I had done this LO that I had scrapped a very similar pic with the exact same papers not that long ago and it was for another STB challenge too! Used just about the same sketch too Oooops. You can see it here.

Lollypop Ladies #4

Mmmmmm Gelato. Yep this is the inspiration for The Lollypop Ladies Challenge #4.
The extra criteria was to use Kraft somewhere.

This is my take:

My inspiration was the colours and the gelato cone shape.

I'm really loving this card. The colours are so scrummy. I have used October Afternoon Ducks In a Row pp, My Mind Eye Alphabet Soup girls range ice cream card, my own crochets flower topped with a ramdom pink button, AC Thickers and mic lace. All on a Kraft cardstock base.

Now there is still some time to get your entry in for this challenge so please pop over to The Lollypop Ladies blog for all the details. New challenge will be up on wednesday!

Just because....

Yep my first Just Because LO for ages.

This pic was taken back in January when we had that shocking heat wave. We were holidaying in our camper at the Blue Lake Tourist Park in Mount Gambier when it hit. This day we lasted as long as we could (about 11am) in the camper then jumped in the car for a drive. At least the car had airconditioning. We drove to Port MacDonnell and it was too cold to go swimmming there. We couldn't believe that the Mount was 43C and it was so cold at the Port. So we decided that Portland wasn't that far (about 100kms) so off we went. It was beautiful there. Probably low 20's I'd say. I'd packed a picnic lunch so we found a nice spot on the foreshore and spent some time there. By the time we got back it was much cooler and we went for a lovely swim in the park pool. Eli fell asleep in my arms in the pool. I have scrapped that pic and it can be seen in this post.

I have been wanting to scrap this pic like this for sooo long. But the grass was holding me up. I just love the way the photo (poor quality printing hey) blends into the pp (Basic Grey - Urban Prairie).

I didn't have the right punch and couldn't justify buying one just for this one LO. Then I was at my lss the other day and spotted some grass by Jolee's by You and it was perfect.

I have used Kaisers tiny alphas again, and I have inked some Buzz & Bloom 70's alphabet too.

I just love these embellies from Purple Pumpkin. Had to put a Daddy owl and a Son Owl on here. The journalling spot is one of the new tags stamed with the corresponding tag stamp from Kaiser.

Eli's Birthday Card

It's The Stamp Spots 1st Birthday and to celebrate Marcia is having a heap of party games this week.

The first challenge to to portray what make you happy in some sort of scrappy form.
It's Eli's 1st Birthday tomorrow too! He makes me so very happy. We had a bit of a rough start with him so I feel very blessed to have him with us. he completes our family.

Here he is just moments ago. He'd fallen alseep after eating his lunch and a choc chip biscuit. Isn't he soo cute?

The new Alphabet Soup range from My Minds Eye is making me very happy too.
So why not combine to two for this challenge.

I decided to make Eli's birthday card with the pps and chippie shapes.

I used the  Star Bright pp as the base. Bordered it with some red ricrac. Added the chipped shapes. Used some Ksier tiny alphas then coated some chippie alphas in glitter and she was done. I just love this card it's sooo cute!

Welcome to the Sweet Life!

I noticed this brand new shop and blog as one of the sponsors of the CyberCrop that's happening at Scrapbooking Top 50 tonight (and lasting a fortnight long!).

So I thought I'd go and check it out. They are having their first challenge too. Criteria were simple enough - scrap a 12x12 LO in the theme of 'Sweet'.

Here's my take:

I have used October Afternoons Ducks in a Row pp's, journalling sticker and card and bottle top cap die cut.
I have used this Stuck?! sketch for inspiration too.

A couple of my hand crocheted flowers.

Making Memories alpha stickers (white glitter ones) and Cloud Nine alpha stickers (just love these ones).

I wish Bec and Em all the best in their new venture.

September 123 Challenge

I received a bundle of gorgeous new My Minds Eye Alphabet Soup goodies in the main from ScrapTherapy the other day and straight away I thought of this months 123 Challenge.
The criteria this month is ORANGE, use the word BLOOM, and to use a HADMADE FLOWER.
The oranges in the MME pp's is what got me started.

Here's my take:
I took this pic trying to capture Eli smiling. He's been smiling prperly for a couple of weeks but just couldn't snap him. This was the best pic I could get that day.
Can you see the sheet Eli's laying on? See the Giraffe? how perfect is that for these papers!

My handmade flower. My lollypop rounds layered with a handcut spoke flower and topped with an Alphabet brad.
Just loe these die cuts and Kaiser tiny letters.
I have used Making Memories glitter alphas and inked some Buzz& Bloom 70's alphabet here.

Had lots of fun this afternoon playing with my new My Minds Eye Alphabet Soup papers and this months Stuck?! sketch.

Here's the sketch:

and my take:

I have layered a couple of my lollypop rounds with a handcut spoke flower, a die cut button from the Alphabet Soup range and added a present charm from My2Angles too.

I folded one fo the MME boy cards in half to use as a journalling card and the addded Kasiers new tiny alphas for my journalling.

I just love these red felt alphas from Making Memories.

Such a gorgeous range!

The Lollypop Ladies

I made sure I got in fairly quick with this fortnights challenge.

Photobucket

It's my nephews 16th birthday tomorrow so I thought I'd use this fortnights ispiration to make him a card. Teenagers these days seem to love lollypops so I popped three of the suckers on the car. Tied them with some ribbon and topped them with some acetate and cardboard with a 'B' for Brandon thicker.
I was also inspired by the circles of the lollypops, so punched out some circles from various scraps and used them to decorate the card.
I inked and DM's the Happy Birthday chippie words too.
Outlined it all with black journalling pen and it's done.
Hope he enjoys it.

Fathers Day Cards

I had a go at making my Fathers Day cards this year.

First of all was the one I made for the boys to give Brian.

Photobucket
(sorry about the poor pic)

I have used a piece of pp from the Basic Grey Granola 6x6 pad as the base (over some brown c/s). I stamped it with the Kaiser script stamp using VersaColors pinecone ink.
My brother gave me a set of stamps at christmas time that had this nice ornate Dad stamp in it so stamped that using Pinecone on some Kraft. Added some metallic brads, a strip from the paper pad, inked the edges and it was done.

My second card was for my FIL. I saw the sketch for this card at ScrapTherapy. It's so simple and can be adapted for all occasions.

Photobucket

I have used another sheet from the Basic Grey Granola 6x6 pad as the main sheet, atop the remaining c/s from the first card. I used the negative from a Kasier die cut set to make the journalling shape using another sheet of the Grnaola pp. The added some new Kasier mini alphas and another strip from the same pp as in Brians card and inked the edges.
